OUR STORY
THE FARM
Fyrkat Farm is situated on nearly 8 beautifully landscaped acres in Tiverton, RI. Fyrkat Farm is family owned and operated by the Bergs who have over 25 years experience caring for horses of all ages. They specialize in a holistic approach to equine health and development.
Fyrkat Farm is a full service equestrian center offering foundation training and performance training in dressage, while building the horse and human partnership.

Sarah Berg
Professional Trainer, Instructor & Barn Manager
Sarah has had a passion for horses since she was very young and started weekly horseback riding lessons at three years old with Carole LeBlanc, a classical dressage instructor, friend, and mentor, who inspired her to be a lifelong learner, to always strive for harmony, and to listen to her horses - her greatest teachers.
Sarah rode her first pony, Autumn Morning Mist to first level and consistently brought home blue ribbons in local dressage shows and the USPC.
Her move up horse, Savannah, a Canadian Warmblood mare was a highly sensitive and complicated horse. She challenged Sarah to go beyond traditional training and this led Sarah to study natural horsemanship.
Sarah followed the Parelli self-study program which empowered her to become the partner Savannah needed. Savannah developed into a confident and willing partner. She is Sarah's bareback and bridle-less horse.
Sarah is a level 4 graduate and worked for several years as a 2-star Parelli professional prior to moving to and managing Fyrkat Farm in 2017. Sarah brings a deep level of understanding of equine behavior and foundation training to develop harmonious horse and human relationships and partnerships for all disciplines. Her performance focus is dressage.
Sarah is a USDF Bronze medalist and is presently training Tiamo's Brynhild, a Hanoverian mare by Tiamo Trocadero out of Elite Mare Chatham. She was backed as a 9 year old and despite her late start, she is excelling in her new life. Bryn started her showing career in 2019 at GMHA with scores in the high 70s at training level and mid 70s at first level.
Sarah is also bringing along Damara, a Hanoverian mare by Domiro out of Elite Mare Chatham. She was backed as a 10 year old. Demi is presently at training level and developing into a wonderful partner.
Sarah's third personal horse in training is Bjorn Ironside, a homebred half Andalusian gelding by Festivo MR. He is a character and fearless. He will start his showing career next year and is presently learning the basics under saddle. He is a playful and fun baroque horse.
THE TEAM

Kyle Rivers
Assistant Barn Manager
Kyle has been working with horses since 2015 and has over six years experience working in leadership roles. Kyle is passionate about horses and you'll often find him riding Willow, shoveling manure or carrying hay bales.

Sophie & Christian Berg
Owners
Sophie and Christian have over 25 years experience caring for horses, many of which were rescues.
Sophie has had a love for horses since she was very young and realized her dream of having her own horse, when a beautiful palomino quarter horse named Scatman became her partner. He was a difficult horse for a beginner but ultimately became one of her greatest teachers.
Akasha, a Kiger Mustang born in captivity to wild parents came next and brought an intensity to the partnership which advanced Sophie's horsemanship to a new level.
Sophie is a registered nurse with over 30 years experience in emergency and cardiac nursing. She had worked with the United States Pony Club for over 12 years as both DC and treasurer of CCPC and SNER Dressage Rally organizer.
Christian is a general contractor and prefers his horse power in the form of a truck or tractor. He often is in his tractor dragging arenas and working on farm improvements. He always has a smile on his face and loves to meet and greet everyone on the farm.
OUR MISSION
Fyrkat Farm's mission is to provide mindful foundation and performance training. We provide a healthy whole food nutrition program for horses, small herds for play and socialization, and balanced barefoot hoof-care. The farm represents this holistic approach by providing a nurturing environment for both horses and humans to learn, grow, and have fun!
